Top 5 Swimsuit Trends of the Summer 2017 Season

Summer time is just around the corner. With long sun-drenched beach days ahead, we thought we would round up some swimsuit trends we have been seeing all over Pinterest lately.

5 swimsuit trends for 2017

1.  Trendy one-piece swimsuit

The one-piece suit has been around for a while, but 2017 seems to be the season to sport it.  With more options than ever, one piece swimsuits are now made for more than just a lap swim.  We are loving Aerie, the new swimwear line by American Eagle. So refreshing and unexpected! (and with a price like $35 and a 4 star review, how could you say no to this suit?)

2.  Strapless swimsuit

The strapless "off the shoulder" trend has officially hit the beach. And we are really loving it in a one-piece style.  Probably more for lounging than playing in the waves, this strapless suit makes the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe (especially if tan lines aren't part of your beach plans).

3.  One shoulder swimsuit

80's babies are all too familiar with this swimwear trend (guilty as charged over here...).  If you're concerned with tan-lines, this may not be the summer pick for you.  But it's cute nonetheless! (We also can't help but think how cute it would look with this handmade choker know we are all about the accessories!)

4.  Ruffled swimsuit

Ruffles are everywhere this summer season. From casual ruffled tees to pretty summer dresses, this trend is even hitting the sand in a big way.  We are loving this ruffled bikini from Anthro!  Probably ideal for a smaller busted gal looking for a softer, feminine alternative to a bikini.

5.  Sporty crop-top swimsuit

This trend is probably our favorite, by far.  The sport crop top can be so versatile (can take you from the pool to the beach in the same day!). Not to mention, it's perfect for getting active in the hot summer months. We are loving Aerie's take on it below!
